The only downside to an Apogee trip? Eventually, it’s time to head home. Saying goodbye is always the worst part, but saying hello is one of the best! With several of our trips coming to a close, we have so many more adventures lined up for everyone, so stay tuned – students are touching down in Colorado as we speak! Of course we had some trips wrap up today, but there are always updates to give you all, and oh boy did our (particularly international) friends have a good day!

Alps Explorer A (AXA)
We love birthdays here at Apogee, and what better way to celebrate one than in Switzerland with all they have to offer: chocolate, cheese, and mountains! The crew celebrated a very special 18th birthday by hiking through a beautiful forest they found hidden within the mountains, very Narnia-esque. After the special forest, the crew found a special lake to chill out for the afternoon. To top it off, the explorers ended the day with some yummy dinner and Swiss treats for the birthday girl!
Alps Explorer B (AXB)
Switching countries for a second to check on AXB! This group of Alps explorers are still in Italy enjoying all of the beauty it has to offer! After their rejuvenating rest day yesterday, the crew spent their day hiking toward a magical little refugio nestled in a valley of the Alps. This particular refugio has a view of a glacier (maybe they need to give AKMC a call)! After their long day of hiking, they enjoyed a hot meal and some cozy bunk beds to prepare for the grand Swiss entrance tomorrow!
Colorado’s Rocky Mountains (CRM)
And boom! Just like that, CRM is back in action with a new, lively crew! The Rocky Mountain explorers touched down in Denver today, where they made their way to their camp site. Everyone had fun chatting during the van ride up and getting to know each other. When they arrived at camp, they played some fun games and made a yummy dinner. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for this new crew!
Costa Rica Mountains & Coast (CRMC)
What a time this crew had! From hiking through Costa Rica’s incredible mountains and rainforest to flying through the Cloud Forest, spotting amazing wildlife, volunteering at an eco-lodge, and catching waves in the Pacific, they packed so much into one unforgettable trip. Here’s to new friendships, lifelong memories, and one final ¡hasta luego! to Costa Rica.
Dolomite Mountains & Croatian Coast (DMCC)
Today, these epic travelers said a mournful arrivederci (or zbogom, for their time spent in Croatia!). All awesome trips must end at some point, but boy did this group have a good time. From mountains to coast, this crew summited crazy peaks, ate some incredible food, stayed in many adorable refugios, and came out with a bunch of new friends. We hope they carry all of these memories with them forever as they say their goodbyes!
Europe Coast to Coast (ECC)
Our alternate Tour de France cyclists have been very active, whether it’s on the bike or walking through Paris, this group deserved a true rest day! They spent their day relaxing, playing games, chatting, and revamping their energy and gear for their upcoming major mile days. They lightly explored Epernay for a little history lesson on the town’s well known architecture, chateaus, and gardens. This crew will be making headway across France in the next couple of days, so stay tuned!
Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)
After a delicious final dinner to fuel everyone from their backcountry adventures, these Downeast Explorers bid farewell today! From paddling along Maine’s rocky coastline and exploring Acadia National Park to tackling the Appalachian Trail and standing on top of Mt. Katahdin, these adventurers made the absolute most of every day. Somewhere between all the miles, meals, smiles, and nonstop laughs, this group became a pretty special team.
