Not West Virginia, but our students don’t mind! With plenty of kayaking, ice climbing, beach days, rest, and biking through medieval towns, our crews are quite content with their own adventures. We can’t wait to tell you about them below. Be sure to check out our Instagram @apogee.adventures to tag along with our students on their journeys!
Skip to a Specific Trip: AKMC, AXA, AXB, CRMC, CSVI, DEX, DMCC, ECC, NWMC, VM
Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMC)
Raise your hand if you’ve ever seen a glacier. Now keep your hand up if you’ve ever ice climbed on one. If you’ve still got your hand up you probably have a pretty good idea of just how AWESOME a day our AKMCers had in the Kenai Peninsula. Post glacial awesomeness, our crew made their way back into camp to enjoy one last night in Seward. This is their second to last grand Alaskan adventure before making their way back up to Anchorage tomorrow!

Alps Explorer A (AXA)
While they didn’t go ice climbing, AXA had their own spectacular views of these icy wonders as they made their way into the Vallee des Glaciers. After a long day of hiking near the snow our crew is excited to set up camp for the next two nights. They even have a fun surprise tomorrow: camping alongside AXB! We wish them a good night’s sleep before the riveting reunion.

Alps Explorer B (AXB)
Have you ever camped in a meadow? How about a meadow on the Tour du Mont Blanc? After a big hiking day our group is happy to set up their tents among the wildflowers (Tom Petty anybody?) and dig into some fresh bread, jam spreads, and delicious goat cheese. No pictures from our AXB folks today, but trust that they’re getting settled in and ready for their hike to Italy tomorrow!
Costa Rica Mountains & Coast (CRMC)
Today our CRMC folks made their way from Los Campesinos to the surf town of Uvita! After some time with the troll who lived under the bridge (who wanted to know “WHAT is your favorite color?”), the crew made it to the pool and have been chillin’ since. Didn’t know there were trolls in Costa Rica, but we’re glad they made some new friends! After troll time and swimming, our crew divided up into Iron Chef groups to compete in the ultimate challenge: making the most delicious dinner. Wish our teams luck tonight and get ready for some surfing stories from tomorrow!

Caribbean Service Virgin Islands (CSVI)
Goodbyes are always hard after a great trip, but what better way to say them than a few last rounds of cards?! As most of our crew shuffles out across the Atlantic, a few enjoy one last night in paradise. Until the next CSVI!

Dolomite Mountains & Croatian Coast (DMCC)
What better way to explore Croatia’s coastline than a kayaking day trip weaving through the jagged limestone cliffs of Kamenjak National Park? The day was filled with swimming, exploring natural caves, and lunch at a safari-themed park – pretty close to paradise, if you ask us. The DMCCers capped it all off with some well-earned ice cream!

Europe Coast to Coast (ECC)
You may have heard that the Tour de France has started, but our folks have started a little known tour of their own: the Tour de Corn! After their first restful night in France our bikers hit the countryside in full force. Picture rolling hills, quaint french towns, and gothic architecture: congrats, You’ve made it to Laon! Rich in history, our bikers made their way from the sunny hills into medieval times under the looming shadow of the cathedral. Tomorrow they hit the cobblestone streets once again and one more ride before a well needed rest day.

Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)
DEX has really done it all: Backcountry, Acadia, Katahdin, camping, backpacking, swimming. What could possibly be next on their list of incredible adventures? Oh yeah, AN OVERNIGHT KAYAKING TRIP! Tomorrow our group takes to the sea to see what kayak camping’s all about. Tonight they rest, but tomorrow, they paddle!

Northwest Mountains & Coast (NWMC)
The Northwest Mountains and Coast crew had a great morning of games at the campsite before heading out on the water for a whitewater rafting adventure on the Skagit River. They had an awesome experience with their guides, singing songs as they floated through the North Cascade valley. By now, they’ve explored the ocean, mountains, lakes, and today, the river too! We can’t wait to hear how tomorrow’s final evening goes exploring the big city!

Vermont to Montreal (VM)
After many a mile (almost 200 to be exact) our bikers have done it. They crushed the longest ride of the trip and have made it to Montreal! Bienvenue bikers! Their biking journey may have come to an end, but they’ve just been introduced to Canada’s cultural capital. Hopefully our brave bikers are taking the night to get some hard earned rest before a fun day of exploring the city. For now, enjoy some beautiful pictures of our crew on their final ride!
