Day 14: Wacky Wednesday

We’ve made it halfway through the week! Happy Wacky Wednesday!  One of the best part of Apogee is that it gives all of our students an opportunity to be their true selves, and let’s face it, we’re all a little wacky. On this Wacky Wednesday we celebrate the silly faces, the uncontrollable laughs, and the crazy dance moves.

New England Mountains & Coast

On Day 4 of their journey, the New England Mountains and Coast team continued their exploration of the Granite State’s White Mountain Range. The White Mountains are known for holding record wind speeds, so lace up your boots, NEMC! Unfortunately, they weren’t able to squeak any pictures through the spotty cell service, so we’ll cross our fingers for more tomorrow.

Colorado’s Rocky Mountains (CRM)

After arriving in the Mile High City yesterday, the Colorado Rocky Mountain team tested their hiking legs and lungs as they explored the mountains of Grand Lake and acclimate to the higher altitude. We heard the views were breathtaking! Ba-dum-dum-tss…

Golden State Adventure (GSA)

From sunrise to sunset, GSA students took full advantage of their beautiful day.  After a long travel day yesterday, these adventurers had their first hike in Los Padres National Forest, Also, can we talk about that sunset? Can you say California dreamin’!?

Caribbean Service (CS)

After an action packed few weeks, it was a bittersweet goodbye for Aaron & Kiana’s group. ¡Adiós y gracias por un gran viaje!

Maine Coast College Essay (MCCE)

Today, our MCCE students arrived in Maine ready to rock and roll. We have a feeling that one of these students could write the next Great American Novel. Remember us when you are rich and famous!

Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)

The sun sets on another Apogee trip as we say goodbye to our fabulous DEX students.  Thanks for an amazing trip and enjoy the rest of your summer!

A-P-O-G-E-E!

Vermont to Montréal (VM)

The VM crew enjoyed their final dinner together in Montréal last night. Au revoir and thank you for an amazing trip, you Vermonsters, you!

Costa Rica Language & Service (CRLS)

Julia & Julian’s diligent students started their morning full steam ahead with their first Spanish classes. While some may be hesitant to take classes in the summer, something tells me that immersion into Costa Rica might just ease the transition a bit. Waterfalls might help, too.

Costa Rica Mountains & Coast (CRMC)

Adventuring up until the last day, CRMC hit the waves on their surf trip before heading into town for their final day. These students really know how to have fun and make the most of their time!

Northwest Explorer (NWXA)

These adventurous students are still in the backcountry! Sad for us because no blog photos, but great for them because they are having a blast! Hold tight, the photos will come when they return to civilization…

Northwest Explorer (NWXB)

After a full day of preparation yesterday, NWXB headed into the backcountry today.  While they are enjoying the beauty and serenity of nature, our blog photos will momentarily pause. Have no fear, we will share them when they return!

Pacific Coast (PCA)

Today was a big day for PCA. They conquered 60 miles and the highest climb along the Pacific Coast between Canada and Mexico. Way to go!

We told you this blog post might get wacky.

Pacific Coast (PCB)

Just look at those Redwoods! PCB rode through the Avenue of the Giants today.  Did you know that redwood trees commonly grow up to 300 feet tall? That’s just about 55 PCB students combined!

Alps Explorer (AX)

Hard days made a bit easier by spectacular views! This epic team tackled an impressive amount of miles today and are more than ready for their upcoming rest day in the quintessential Italian town of Courmayeur. You deserve it!

Europe Coast to Coast 1 (ECC1)

Riding the train back to Bar-le-Duc in style! We’re talking mustaches and Eiffel tower necklaces. Plus a surplus of fresh pastries, groceries, laundry, and naps. Can you think of a better rest day?!

ECC powered by pastries!

Europe Coast to Coast 2 (ECC2)

An absolutely glorious day in Paris seeing the sights and enjoying all that the City of Light has to offer. A very official trivia question: What shines brighter, ECC or Paris?

Hard to say which of these towers is more stable.

America Coast to Coast (ACC)

ACC once again continues to absolutely crush miles.  Here they are pausing just for a brief minute to pose with the Mississippi River. Their legs were thankful for the break!
