Remember those postcards you’d send home from summer camp? Today, we’re bringing them back! If each Apogee trip could send one postcard home after today’s adventures, what would it say? We imagined a few notes from the trail- straight from our students to their biggest fans. Read on to see what arrived in today’s mail! Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMC)

Hi guys!

Today was the perfect chance to recharge after our backcountry adventure! We spent the day exploring the charming town of Seward, picking up fresh supplies, tackling the much-anticipated laundry, and enjoying some delicious food after days on the trail. There was plenty of time to wander through town, play games together, laugh about all of our backcountry memories, and catch up with everyone back home during our email stop. We couldn’t have asked for a better reset before jumping back into our Alaskan adventures — this time on the water! I can’t wait to tell you all about it when I get home.

Love, AKMC

Bonjour!

Today we arrived in Geneva for our final day together, and what a way to wrap up an incredible adventure! We spent the day exploring the city’s charming streets, strolling along the waterfront, and soaking in the sights before sitting down for one last dinner as a group. It was the perfect opportunity to reflect on everything we’ve experienced over the past two weeks- from unforgettable hikes and breathtaking mountain views to the friendships and memories we’ve made along the way. As we settle into the hostel tonight, we’re feeling grateful for an amazing journey and excited to share all of our stories when we get home.

Hugs, AX

Iceland Mountains & Coast (IMC)

Halló!

Today we explored the incredible landscapes of Skaftafell National Park on a 15-kilometer hike, and every turn seemed to reveal another breathtaking view. We spent the day weaving through Iceland’s dramatic scenery, taking in towering peaks, glacial landscapes, and some of the most beautiful trails we’ve seen so far. After a full day of hiking together, we headed back feeling tired in the best way and already reminiscing about another unforgettable day in Iceland. I can’t wait to show you all the photos when I get home!

Love always,

IMC

Maine Coast College Essay (MCCE)

Dear Family,

Today was a big day for our college essay journey! We spent the morning in a writing workshop, brainstorming ideas, sharing stories, and turning personal experiences into meaningful essays. Later, we dove into a college admissions workshop, where we learned more about the application process and picked up helpful tips for putting our best foot forward. We even took a break to enjoy a picnic lunch together on the beautiful Maine coast before jumping back into our work. It’s amazing how much we’ve learned already, and I’m feeling more confident with every draft.

Lots of love,

MCCE

Maine Coast Junior (MCJ)

Hi guys!!!

Today was the start of our Downeast adventure! After arriving at Bradbury Mountain State Park, we got our camp set up, met everyone in the group, and jumped right into fun get-to-know-you games. It didn’t take long for names to turn into new friendships, and the excitement for the week ahead was contagious. With camp all set and a week of hiking, exploring, and adventure waiting for us, we’re off to a fantastic start. I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Hug you soon,

MCJ

Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)

Dear loved ones,

Today was our second day in the backcountry, and we’re really settling into life on the Appalachian Trail! We spent the day hiking through Maine’s beautiful forests, crossing streams, and soaking in the quiet beauty that makes this part of the trail so special. Along the way, we shared plenty of laughs, swapped trail stories, and kept each other motivated as we tackled another day with our packs on our backs. We’re tired, a little dirty, and loving every minute of it. I can’t wait to tell you all about life on the trail when I get home!

XOXO,

DEX

New England Mountains & Coast (NEMC)

Hi everyone,

After hitting the trails of the White Mountains yesterday we were ready to get back out there — but first, rafting! Today we swapped our hiking boots for water shoes, donned our helmets, tightened our lifejackets (after this picture was taken), and learned how to row like a well oiled machine. We spent the day paddling through beautiful forests (after a taking a quick second getting the hang of things on the river), taking in mountain views, and cheering each other on along the way. Every turn brought more laughs (raft guides got jokes!), a few splashes, and opportunities to try new things. We’re already feeling like a team, and I have a feeling this is the beginning of an unforgettable adventure.

All our love,

NEMC

Pyrenees Mountains & Coast (PMC)

Hola,

Today we packed up everything we needed and headed into the Pyrenees for an unforgettable backpacking adventure! Our 8-kilometer hike took us through beautiful mountain scenery as we made our way to a cozy mountain refugio for the night. Carrying everything on our backs made reaching our destination feel even more rewarding, and we’re excited to spend the evening sharing stories, playing games, and soaking in the incredible surroundings before another day on the trail tomorrow. This is definitely one of those adventures I’ll never forget!

Can’t wait to see you,

PMC

Vermont to Montreal (VM)

Bonjour!

Today was our biggest biking day yet! We rode an incredible 37 miles all the way into Montréal! Every mile brought us closer to our destination, and crossing into the city felt like such an exciting accomplishment after everything we’ve pedaled through this week. We celebrated making it to Montréal, explored our new surroundings, and couldn’t stop talking about how proud we are of everything we’ve accomplished together. My legs are definitely tired, but it’s the kind of tired that comes with an amazing adventure. I can’t wait to tell you all about our ride when I get home!

Love you so much,
VM
