Is there anything more awesome than spotting a rainbow when you’re outside doing something fun? The only thing we can think of is spotting a rainbow with your Apogee group! Which got us thinking… if our trips in the field today were each a color of the rainbow, which would they be, and why? From exciting adventures high in the mountains to heartfelt goodbyes in the Caribbean, it was a pretty great day in the Apogee world. Read on to hear all about it!

Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMC)
It’s day two in the backcountry for our AKMC crew! They packed up camp and headed up a lush green valley, passing a stunning alpine lake before climbing over a mountain pass and descending into yet another beautiful green valley. Along the way, we’re sure they played plenty of trail games, enjoyed snacks with incredible views, and set up camp for another awesome night in the Alaskan wilderness. With all the time our AKMC group spent surrounded by stunning green valleys today, the answer was clear—GREEN!
Alps Explorer (AX)
Our AX crew woke up in a cozy alpine hut, enjoyed their final meal in Italy, and hit the trail. It was an exciting day as they crossed back into Switzerland and entered the final stretch of the Tour du Mont Blanc. It’s hard to believe that in just a few short days they’ll be off the trail and headed back to Geneva. For now, though, they’re savoring every moment together! There’s no better way to celebrate this crew’s final border crossing than with RED, the color of the Swiss flag.
Caribbean Service Virgin Islands (CSVI)
After a glorious nine days on island time, our final CSVI crew of the 2026 season said their goodbyes and headed home today. From meaningful service work, where they met seriously cuddly puppies and seriously cool sea turtles, to endless beach days, swims in the crystal-blue Caribbean waters, and epic sunsets to end each day, CSVI truly did it all! We’re so sad to see them go, but so excited for them to share stories of their adventures in St. Croix with their loved ones back home. Since today marked the final day of their trip, it only seemed fitting that they receive the final color of the rainbow… VIOLET!
Iceland Mountains & Coast (IMC)
Oh me, oh my, what a day our IMC group had! They enjoyed a stunning hike overlooking brilliant blue water beneath equally blue skies (can you guess the color of the day yet?). And what was waiting for them along the coast? Only the cutest puffins you’ve ever seen! They spent the afternoon playing soccer on a black sand beach before cooking a delicious dinner and wrapping up the evening with games. In case you haven’t guessed by now, IMC is the BLUE in today’s rainbow!
Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)
DEX got after it today, summiting not one, not two, but three peaks! After soaking in plenty of epic summit views, they headed into Bar Harbor to take in the charm of this iconic Maine coastal town. They returned to camp to cook dinner, play games, and roast s’mores over the campfire. Who doesn’t love a great day outside followed by an evening around the fire? We here in the office are certainly jealous! With the campfire theme in mind, DEX’s color of the day has to be ORANGE.
Pyrenees Mountains & Coast (PMC)
Today, the PMC group said goodbye to the ocean! It was their final day by the seaside before heading into the mountains tomorrow to begin the Carros de Foc. They hiked along the coast before taking one last dip in the sea. We truly can’t think of a better way to say adiós to the ocean. The color of the day? YELLOW, to remind them of the beautiful sandy coastline as they begin the next leg of their adventure in the mountains!
Vermont to Montreal (VM)
After a day of resting their legs, exploring, and enjoying some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream (when in Vermont, am I right?), our epic VM crew hopped back on their bikes. Today they traveled farther from Burlington and one step closer to Montreal. They biked along the shoreline before riding onto a scenic causeway, where they soaked in stunning lake views in every direction. Legend has it that at night the lake almost looks INDIGO. And with all the getting up and Indi-going (get it?), we’d say this color fits the group perfectly!
