Enrollment for our 2027 trips is open! Check out details on our early bird discount here to save $300 on your 2027 Apogee tuition and peruse our 2027 trip offerings (including a brand new itinerary!).

We’re 34 days into the summer and here at Apogee HQ we are feeling particularly thought-provoking today. So, while our adventure seekers are out in the field discovering Iceland’s scenic waterfalls, Alaska’s charming mountain ranges, and the Virgin Islands’ puppy friends, we felt a little game of would you rather is called for! Each trip will get its own, personalized “would you rather” question for everyone to ponder. Let’s dive in and see what all our groups are getting up to today!

Skip to a Specific Trip: AKMC, AXCRM, CSVI, DEX, IMC, PMC, VM

Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMC)

Today marks Day 1 of AKMC’s Backcountry section! After a scenic drive to the trailhead, the group laced up their boots and set off on a six-mile hike through Alaska’s stunning wilderness. The trail was filled with conversation, laughter, and plenty of memorable moments as students took in incredible views and embraced the adventure together. It’s been a fantastic first day in Alaskan backcountry so far, with many more miles and memories still to come! The photos we received from the group this afternoon were sent while they still had cell service, so we’re looking forward to seeing the many epic photos from their time off the grid when they return in a few days! This got us wondering, though… would you rather: hike to a breathtaking mountain summit or paddle through a quiet alpine lake?

Alps Explorer (AX)

Today, our Alps Explorer group continued their journey along the iconic Tour du Mont Blanc, winding through breathtaking alpine scenery with towering peaks and sweeping mountain vistas around every corner. With another rewarding day of hiking behind them, they earned a well-deserved evening filled with great food, warm company, and plenty of stories from the trail. Perhaps an obvious “would you rather” for our alps friends over in Italy today: would you rather have unlimited pizza or unlimited pasta? We hope that these Italian pioneers got to enjoy both today at their lovely Refugio!

Colorado’s Rocky Mountains (CRM)

Today, we said goodbye to our CRMers after an incredible week of adventures. From breathtaking hikes and unforgettable mountain views to new friendships and countless memories, this trip was packed with experiences our students will be talking about for years to come. We hope everyone travels home safely, carrying a little bit of Colorado with them until their next adventure. Would you rather: relive your favorite day of the trip exactly as it happened, or do the whole week over again with the chance to discover something new each day?

Caribbean Service Virgin Islands (CSVI)

Today was all about soaking up the beauty of St. Croix before heading home. This awesome squad spent the day at Protestant Cay, enjoying a little bit of everything, from swimming and volleyball to friendly games of chess in the sand. To wrap up an unforgettable week, the group shared one final dinner together before watching the sun set over Cane Bay, taking in every last moment of island life. As they say goodbye to the Virgin Islands tomorrow, we found ourselves wondering: would you rather spend every evening watching the sunset by the ocean, or wake up early every morning to catch the sunrise from the beach?

Iceland Mountains & Coast (IMC)

Today, our IMC crew hit the road for a day of exploring, making their way across Iceland’s dramatic landscapes before arriving in the charming town of Vík. Along the way, they had the chance to relax and recharge with a visit to a unique Icelandic hot springs, a well-earned break after days of adventure. With black sand beaches, rugged coastlines, and incredible scenery surrounding them, it was another unforgettable day in Iceland, and they are looking forward to the next chapter of their journey in Vik! After a day of sightseeing and soaking in the hot springs, here’s a question for our Iceland adventurers: would you rather end every adventure with a relaxing soak in a hot spring, or celebrate with a swim in the refreshing but chilly ocean?

Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)

This morning, our Maine’s Downeast Explorer group made their way up the coast of Maine and into Acadia National Park for the first time! After lunch, they embarked on a lovely little hike up the iconic Bubbles trail this afternoon. With sweeping views of the surrounding lakes, forests, and rocky coastline, the climb was well worth the effort. After their first day of exploring New England’s most beloved national park, the group settled into camp, already excited for the next phase of their Acadia exploration tomorrow. After their first glimpse of Acadia’s beauty from a high peak, we have one question for our DEX adventurers: would you rather spend the day hiking to a mountain summit or exploring the rocky coastline below?

Pyrenees Mountains & Coast (PMC)

Today, our Pyrenees Mountains and Coast group checked two incredible experiences off their list, with a rewarding hike to a historic monastery followed by a relaxing afternoon at one of the spectacular beaches in Port de la Selva. From stunning mountain views to the iconic blue Mediterranean waters, it was a day that perfectly captured the impressive variety this trip has to offer. After getting to experience both in one day, we have to ask: would you rather spend every day hiking through the mountains or relaxing by the beach?

Vermont to Montreal (VM)

Today, our VM bikers enjoyed a day exploring the vibrant streets of Burlington, Vermont. Between strolling through the vibrant town and taking in the local sights, to making a very intentional pit stop for the legendary Vermonster ice cream challenge, the day was full of fun and camaraderie; just as it should be before they continue the journey north over the coming days! It was the perfect mix of exploring, relaxing, and making memories together. After tackling a famous Vermont treat, we have one question for our VM adventurers: would you rather have unlimited ice cream or unlimited maple syrup for the rest of your life?
