A full 33 days of Apogee summer already?! You know what they say, “time flies when you’re having fun!” While we’re at it, you know what they also say… “three is the magic number!” With both these idioms on our side, today is really bound to be a fantastic day! For this lucky 3s day, it feels only fitting to pick the top 3 words that embody each of our group’s adventurers! Stay tuned to hear the 3 most appropriate descriptors for each crew and as always, check out our Instagram @apogee.adventures for more content!
Skip to a Specific Trip: AKMC, AX, CRM, CSVI, DEX, IMC, PMC, VM
Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMC)
For their first full day, our Alaskan adventurers waste no time in starting their exploration! Today, these travelers set out for a picturesque hike with sights of grandeur and glacial valleys. After a morning on trail, this crew returns to camp for games and prep for their backcountry days to come. Three words for these folks you ask? Exploratory, primed, voyagers!
Alps Explorer (AX)
On day 7 of their TMB trek, our Alps explorers enjoy a well earned rest day. Today, their adventures take them into the historic mountain town of Courmayeur. With breathtaking views, alpine gardens, cozy cafes, and classic Italian gelatorias, the possibilities are endless! After some delicious Italian food, epic hacky sacking, and news from home, our explorers are ready to take on tomorrow. These folks are fittingly described as peaceful, playful, jaunters today!
Colorado’s Rocky Mountains (CRM)
Can you believe it is the last full day for our CRM crew?! We certainly can’t! These folks are making the most of their final hours together with a full day of fun! After a leisurely morning at camp (did someone say celebratory breakfast?!), this group headed into Boulder for some community service at a local food bank where they packaged almost 1000 pounds of macaroni. They followed their generous work with exploration of this awesome city and a final group dinner out! Picking only three words to describe such a fantastic last day is tricky work but we tried our best to encapsulate all the fun. Today, our CRM folks could be considered kindhearted, festive, commemorators!
Caribbean Service Virgin Islands (CSVI)
Down in the virgin islands, this crew did service today for a local puppy rescue organization. Not only did these folks get to hang out with the doggos themselves, but they also organized stations to educate the public, get donations for Ruff Start, and encourage others to adopt the pups! After their morning of volunteering, these guys took to exploring themselves, with games and fun by the water to round out their day! We personally would describe the CSVI peeps as elated, altruistic, souls today!
Iceland Mountains & Coast (IMC)
After their day on the water, today, our Iceland explorers take to the trails! Their hike this morning will take them all around some of the most iconic views of Icelandic landscapes and waterfalls. The fun doesn’t end there though, in the afternoon, this crew has games a plenty to play before a yummy dinner! Today, our IMC crew could be referred to as romping, spirited, sightseers!
Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)
Happy start day to our DEXers! Today is full of excitement, new faces, and (of course) games! After arrivals, our DEX crew will head to their first campsite for more fun games and getting to know you’s before a yummy dinner and sleep after an eventful day! On day 1, we’d describe these folks as eager, playful, ramblers!
Pyrenees Mountains & Coast (PMC)
Across the pond, our Pyrenees Mountains and Coast squad spent their morning in transit to Port de la Selva. Not to worry though, they arrived with ample time for a picnic lunch, exploration, and even some time at the beach! That water looks pretty refreshing to us! We think it’s fitting to refer to this crew as jubilant, aquatic, voyagers for the day!
Vermont to Montreal (VM)
In Vermont today, our bikers travel from one college town to another with their morning ride from Middlebury to Burlington. As one of their shorter days (impressive that we can even call it that!), they arrived in Burlington early enough for a full afternoon! After a picnic lunch, this crew headed over for some volunteering at a local conservancy! Not only did they get to hang in a garden, but they also got to help the community–pretty great combo if you ask me! Three words for these folks today are benevolent, vivacious riders!
