Fall Updates and … the Second Annual Early Bird Special!

Wide world of Apogee – greetings!  We hope this finds you very well, wherever in the world it finds you.  In this post, we’re delighted to announce our 2014 schedule as well as update you on our second annual Early Bird Special and this season’s trip updates.

EARLY BIRD SPECIAL:

Our first-ever Early Bird Special was a huge success last year – and we’re excited to serve it up again this fall!  Starting today, if you apply for any trip through November 15, we’ll reduce your tuition by $250.  It’s that simple – and a great way to save a bundle on next summer’s trip! And the fine print is awfully simple, too – if you change your mind, your deposit is fully refundable until December 31.  Our application may be found here:  https://apogeeadventures.com__/application

TRIP UPDATES:

In 2014, we’re running a very fitting 14 itineraries.  With trips from Oregon to Ora, Italy, this year’s is the most expansive set of trips we’ve ever offered.  Please check out 2014’s Trips at a Glance page for all the details.  There are two completely new trips to tell you about this year – at opposite ends of the age and challenge levels – both of which we are very excited about.

Apogee_Trip_master_image_2014_MCJMaine Coast Junior – For the first time in many years, we’re happy to offer a trip limited to 11- and 12-year olds.  This week-long trip will offer our group a perfect sampler of adventures in Maine’s beautiful outdoors – from hiking in Acadia National Park, to riding Acadia’s famous Carriage Roads, to learning the ropes, literally, on an exciting ropes course, to exploring the cobblestoned streets of Portland’s Old Port.  Students participating in this trip will return home excited to spend even more time outside and eager to share their adventures with their buddies at school.

Apogee_Trip_master_image_2014_AXAlps Explorer –  Our hiking alumni have been clamoring for two things over the years – a more challenging hiking trip and a hiking trip in Europe.  Well, bien sur!  We are but humble servants and have done our best to meet both of those requests with this phenomenal 20-day Alpine adventure.  Starting in Zermatt, Switzerland, we’ll take in the stunning beauty of the high Swiss Alps and the Matterhorn, hiking from our base camp to Alpine huts, glacial views and the occasional marmot siting.  After we’ve fully acclimated, we’ll spend a full day hiking the length of the breathtaking Aletsch Glacier – a quickly shrinking UNESCO world heritage site; take a day to catch our breath with the St Bernard dogs in Martigny, Switzerland, then start the Tour de Mont Blanc – a twelve-day, three-country hike that will take us around the highest mountain in Europe, provide more postcard-perfect views than can be counted, and have us ordering café in Italian, croissants in French, and rösti in German.  Once we’ve made the circuit, we’ll dust off the boots and head to Geneva to celebrate and explore this world-class city.

Our website folks are building full pages for both of these trips, but you’ll see critical details on our Trips-at-a-Glance page for the time being. You can always give us a ring or shoot us an email to ask any questions at all.

apogee_trip_master_image_2012_csaCaribbean Service Adventure:  After four years of fun in the sun, it’s time for a bit of a refresher for our perpetually popular CSA.  The biggest change is that we have shortened the trip from 18 to 13 days, lowered the tuition cost, and will be offering three departures of the trip in 2014 – we did this to eliminate driving time in Puerto Rico and offer families more flexibility in choosing a date set that works for them.  The CSA is still packed with service and adventure (aptly named, don’t you think?) – and will offer up to 45 hours of service, along with surfing, sea kayaking in the bio bay, hiking in the rain forest, and exploring Old San Juan.

Those are the updates for now – we’ll be putting up info on our annual Holiday Hoodie sale in the next few weeks, but please be in touch with any questions about trips, new or old, or questions about the Early Bird Special!
