Day 8 – Time Zones and Lizards

A quick, AM entry today, Dear Reader, before I leave the blog in the capable hands of Kevin “The Blog Doctor” Cashman for the next day or so.

To the South — another auspicious, if invisible, set of lines crossed while most of us were still in bed this morning. Our cross-country crew sailed over the Alabama border (as evidenced below), which also marks the end of Eastern time. They’re now an hour behind us, with two more hours to drop before California.

To the northeast, Wyatt and Chrissy are digging life on the Vineyard, as evidenced below. They will be converging with Lucas and Danika’s group in Boston this afternoon to explore the city before wrapping up on Monday morning.

Even further to the north and east, our Coast to Quebecers continue to enjoy this spate of stunning weather we’re enjoying in Maine. Pete and Emily sent in the below shot of the group reveling in putting another hill behind them.

And finally, back south, way south, to Puerto Rico. Lidia sent in the below shot of one of her guys hanging out with his new Puerto Rican buddy. Both groups are doing service today on Vieques with a great local organization, Reach for Success. They’ll be working with local kids to paint the high school. Reach for Success is throwing a barbecue for our guys later today to thank them for all of their help.

Have a great Fourth — I’ll be back on Monday with lots more!
