Caribbean Service (CS)

This morning our CS squad started their day at the “epic!!” Salt Flats doing some amazing trash clean up to help preserve this beautiful space. After a morning of amazing work, they headed over to the beach for a relaxing swim. Today was punctuated by making a classic Puerto Rican dish, mofongo! Sounds like an amazing (and delicious) day – we can’t wait to see what they get up to tomorrow!

Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEXA)

Today was DEXA’s first day in the backcountry! This morning the group drove up into the Maine wilderness before starting their hike! We hope they have an amazing time in the backcountry and can just picture all of the trail songs and riddles that were probably flowing at high speed through the group. Due to the lack of service it might be a couple of days until we get blog pictures from them again.

Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEXB)

Today DEXB paddled back to the main land after a 3 day kayaking adventure! Although it was a foggy morning, they let us know that they had clear skies all they way up to Acadia National Park which is where they will explore for the next couple of days! We love getting to watch this group make their way up the Maine coastline by foot, van, and kayak!

Vermont to Montreal A (VMA)

VMA had a rocking day and completed their 28 mile bike ride with flying colors. This day is well known for it’s absolutely postcard perfect Vermont landscape of rolling green hills. Tomorrow marks a big day for the group as they will be riding into Burlington, Vermont where they will have a bit of a calm afternoon to take a rest next to beautiful Lake Champlain. (Did you know Burlington is home to Ben and Jerry’s! Maybe a special snack awaits the group??)

Vermont to Montreal B (VMB)

VMB totally crushed their 17 mile ride today! Today, they got their first glimpse of Lake Champlain – the lake they will get to be camped on in just a few days! Once the crew arrived into camp, they took a dip in the river. It’s been reported that the sun has come back out after a brief bit of rain. It was a picturesque Vermont day for this crew!

Costa Rica Mountains & Coast (CRMC)

Looks like our CRMC folks have been up to some awesome things lately! Today they hiked into the Rainforest Adventure Center Expeditions where they will spend the next 3 days! Tonight we heard they will be making homemade tortillas and chocolate tonight and are looking forward to a day of service tomorrow. We know it will also be packed with fun tree climbing, plant identifying, and some wonderful swimming! Sign us up please, sounds amazing!

California Mountains & Coast (CMC)

CMC popped out of the backcountry today, but they are going to head right back in at a different beautiful location tomorrow! It sounds like Point Reyes has been nothing but spectacular views, trails, and filled with trail songs and dances galore. They boogied over to their next trailhead and are excited to pop back into the rugged California wilderness tomorrow.

Alaska Mountains & Coast A (AKMCA)

Who’s that emerging from deep within the Alaskan wilderness? A family of moose? Bigfoot, perhaps? Nope, that’s AKMCA! This weathered bunch of adventurers finished up their last backcountry section today, marking an amazing accomplishment: four days of off-the-grid hiking in beautiful Alaska. And now for the best part – showers and laundry! With warm showers tonight and clean laundry tomorrow, this crew is ready to tackle the rest of their journey, starting with transit to the lovely town of Seward tomorrow.

Alaska Mountains & Coast B (AKMCB)

Ahoy Anchorage! Today, our intrepid Alaskan explorers wound their way over to the beautiful city of Anchorage for a day full of rest, relaxation, and important backcountry preparation (how’s that for a rhyme!). In order to set themselves up for a successful stint in the backcountry, the crew hit the laundromat and the grocery store, made some phone calls home, and went over all the keys to an amazing and safe backcountry adventure. Tomorrow, they’ll put it all to good use when they enter Chugach State Park!

Europe Coast to Coast 1 (ECC1)

Ah, the Alps! Our ECC1 cyclists enjoyed a smooth ride throughout the day, making a brief sojourn into Lichtenstein where they ate a picturesque picnic lunch. How else could they end the day except with cooling off at an epic natural water park where they swam in natural pools, lazy rivers, and did some well deserved lounging!

Europe Coast to Coast B (ECCB)

For our now well oiled ECC cycling machine, the only bumps on their road are the pebbles on the farm roads for today which they made look easy! Along their 72 mile ride, ECC casually spotted the Alps on their way into Austria and followed the shores of gorgeous Lake Constance to camp. We couldn’t be more thrilled each time we get an update from this awesome group.

Pyrenees Mountains and Coast (PMC)

Our young trekkers are now enjoying some R&R (Rolling to the Rock) on the bus ride to the namesake of this journey: the Pyrenees! They went on a snack purchase extravaganza to keep their spirits high during their hike and later tonight, they’ll become expert packers as they prep for their epic 5 day journey on the Carros de Foc.
