Enrollment for our 2027 trips is open! Check out details on our early bird discount here to save $300 on your 2026 Apogee tuition and peruse our 2027 trip offerings (including a brand new itinerary!).

What is… an amazing time?” A day in the life of an Apogee trip, of course! Trip Jeopardy is a classic Apogee activity for students recapping their day during evening Journal. On today’s adventures, we’re finding the answers to Jeopardy-style questions like: “What is… a beautiful European campsite?” and “Who is… the winner of a water balloon throwing contest?!”

Having reached the big Day Two-Oh, we have groups starting up, wrapping up, and smack dab in the middle of incredible sights, awe-inspiring service, and unforgettable memories. Let’s take a look at the categories!

Skip to a Specific Trip: AKMC, CRM, CSPR, CSVI, DMCC, ECC, IMC, MCCE, NWMC, PMC

Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMC)

First up, we’ll take “Beautiful Backcountries” for $200: AKMC is on their second day hiking Chugach State Park’s beautiful forest loops! Passing jaw-dropping alpine lakes, valley views, and maybe even some dall sheep sightings…? No photos during the backcountry today, so keep an eye out here tomorrow. We’re on every night at 8:30 PM Eastern: same channel as always!

Colorado’s Rocky Mountains (CRM)

Rocky Mountain Rafting” for $1000 sounds good to us: this is a fan-favorite day! Daring whitewater rafting was fearlessly handled by students on CRM today, along with some magical time at the beach, where they ate lunch and played games, before strapping on those helmets and paddling down the river with mighty speed. We can’t wait to see what Colorado’s Rocky Mountains takes on next as they approach the peak (see what we did there?) of their trip!

Caribbean Service Puerto Rico (CSPR)

This nonprofit organization partners with the CSPR crew to protect Puerto Rico’s northeastern coastline through conservation, restoration, and environmental education.” If you said, “What is Corredor Ecológico del Noreste?“, you’re correct! CSPR tackled day two of service with gusto, spending four hours volunteering before gearing up for the adventures ahead. Tomorrow they’ll be saying “¡Adiós!” to home base as they head off to explore the island!

Caribbean Service Virgin Islands (CSVI)

Here’s a Jeopardy clue: “This Apogee community service partner operates coral restoration work on St. Croix and is one of the foremost environmental organizations in the world.…If you said, “What is The Nature Conservancy?” you’re correct! The rockstars on CSVI worked hard and played hard today, cutting an entirely new trail to the beach on the eastern point of the island before plenty of afternoon beach time and fun in the sun. Their community service work with TNC made a big difference and we’re so proud of them!

Dolomite Mountains & Croatian Coast (DMCC)

Dolomite Mountains & Croatian Coast begins today! An amazing start to their trip was waiting for new friends flying into the airport, as silly group games led straight into shopping, a water balloon fight(!!!), and arrival into camp. Then, they enjoyed a water balloon-throwing contest, threw around the hacky sack, and played cards (hopefully without throwing any). Let’s do “Perfect Post-Flight Play” for $400!

Europe Coast to Coast (ECC)

“What is a well-earned rest day?” Germany continues to delight our relentless ECC bikers as they explore its rural small towns. Today, they join a long tradition of respite-seekers: the town where they’ve set up camp has been a stop for travelers and traders since the 11th century! To make things even more exciting, this crew celebrated a very happy (belated) birthday with a yummy bike-cake. Look at that decked-out bike! WOW, birthdays are the best!

Iceland Mountains & Coast (IMC)

Any takers for “Sunshine and Stunning Ocean Views” for $600? IMC took their lovely day in Vik and daily doubled it with some intense hiking games and soccer on a black sand beach. Picnic lunches, cozy campgrounds, and craggy cliffs made this a day to remember… and not only that, they crushed FIFTY Icelandic hot dogs in one sitting!

Maine Coast College Essay (MCCE)

Do we hear a Daily Double?! That’s right, MCCE’s Iron Chef competition is hitting big swings in the “History’s Greatest Chefs” category. Today, these intrepid writers not only did outstanding community service work on a climate-friendly organic vegetable farm, they put in work in the kitchen, too, seeing who could make the tastiest dinner for the group. If it was anything like their essays, we just know that meal was a creative masterpiece!

Northwest Mountains & Coast (NWMC)

“This Washington National Park is home to some of the world’s largest temperate rainforests, rugged mountain peaks, and giant Douglas firs.” If you answered, “What is Olympic National Park?”, you’re absolutely right! Today, the NWMC crew set out for an incredible day hike beneath towering old-growth trees. Along the trail, they stopped to marvel at these massive trees, including one that took the whole crew to wrap their arms around! With fresh legs, big smiles, awesome outfits, and plenty of excitement, the group is settling into life in the Pacific Northwest and getting ready for even more adventures in the days ahead.

Pyrenees Mountains & Coast (PMC)

Finally, its Final Jeopardy with PMC: “This mid-trip event is an opportunity for students to both think of home and reflect on their trip alike. The correct answer was: “What is an Email Stop?” PMC is ramping up and getting excited for their Carros de Foc trekking loop to begin tomorrow, and on their transit day to get there today, students enjoyed seeing heartfelt messages from home. A stunning (albeit winding) van ride later, they’re into an awesome campground, dreaming of an exciting start tomorrow!
