Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMC)
Flying in with a first course, it’s Alaska Mountains & Coast! We could not be more excited for this group who arrived in Anchorage today, and then hit the road, heading to camp, and commencing the beginning of an incredible, breathtaking adventure. Nothing like that first home-cooked (or camp-cooked) meal after a long flight! Just look at these smiling faces! We can’t wait to hear about all the fun games they played during their first night in camp.
Alps Explorer A (AXA)
What better way to celebrate the culmination of an Apogee trip than a final dinner? AXA bopped around Geneva today and enjoyed their time spent exploring, souvenir shopping, and swimming, triumphant in their accomplishment of conquering the Alps! With a final meal fit for European royalty, we’re so proud of them as they prepare to fly home tomorrow, hearts (and bellies) full. The Tour du Mont Blanc is no easy feat, and boy oh boy, are we amazed by their grit.
Alps Explorer B (AXB)
Wow, what a day! AXB is concluding their expedition with a Geneva victory lap, including bacon-egg-n-cheese breakfast sandwiches, authentic Swiss burgers, and final night gelato! What a remarkable accomplishment, and a celebration well-earned: a refreshing dip in the lake and exploration of the old town. With final goodbyes and return trips home just around the corner, they are busy savoring one last day (and one last plate of delicious Swiss food). Hands in the air for these marvelous world travelers!
Colorado’s Rocky Mountains (CRM)
CRM team, meet rock climbing! This day is a fan favorite for a reason: our Apogee leaders and climbing guides have cooked up an amazing combo of hiking and rock climbing, showcasing all of the beauty Rocky Mountain National Park has to offer! And this crew smashed it out of the park, with exploration, shopping, and some celebratory treats. Now, they are snug in their tents after cooking up an incredible meal after a day of hard work. Just look at these views!
Caribbean Service Virgin Islands (CSVI)
This crew woke up with a bang and jumped right into another day of beach-filled activities after hydrating and fueling up. After hydrating and fueling up, they headed over to do service at Ruff Start, where they helped paint areas for dog housing and cleaned up some areas. They even got to hold cute little puppies! Following their service work, they hit the beach, went snorkeling, played fun games, and went seashell hunting! Tonight they will go on a biobay kayaking tour. We are not jealous at all over here in the office.
Europe Coast to Coast (ECC)
Bastille Day and ECC’s last full day in France? This calls for celebration! These coast-to-coast rockstars finished an awe-inspiring day of biking today to arrive in Strasbourg, where they enjoyed shady forest campsites and an impromptu swingset zipline as Bastille Day celebrations crackled around them. Will upcoming countries be able to beat French cuisine? ECC will see!
Iceland Mountains & Coast (IMC)
After their appetizer yesterday–seeing beautiful Icelandic sights out the van window–IMC was eager to dig into an entrée today: a hike to a misty, mythical Icelandic waterfall, followed up by birthday celebrations! What an adventure- and it’s only Day 2! While the weather might be a bit gray, these spirits are high! After a delicious dinner and an even better dessert (if that is even possible), this tired crew hit the hay. We can’t wait to see what this awesome group gets up to tomorrow!
Maine Coast College Essay (MCCE)
While enjoying meals at the #2 college dining hall in the *nation* (yes, it’s that good), MCCE is cooking up outstanding essay ideas! Writing sessions started today, with a morning workshop swiftly followed by a lovely afternoon hike. Following that, they whipped up an incredible meal and continued to play get-to-know-you games! We can’t wait to see what these scholars create in the coming days!
Pyrenees Mountains & Coast (PMC)
A time-honored Apogee tradition, Pyrenees Mountains & Coast rounds out our culinary day with Iron Chef! Getting everyone involved in cooking always gets the creative juices flowing, and with some ice cream to enjoy, they sure brought the energy. For dinner today, these intrepid explorers took inspiration from their drive to Port de la Selva, their time soaking in the sun on the beach, and their exploration of a beautiful new place… spiced up with a bit of competition! Who can make the yummiest food for dinner? Sounds like PMC found out!
