Holy guacamole, it’s been an amazing day here at Apogee Adventures! From misty mountain treks and glacier hikes to ziplining through rainforest canopies and kayaking along rugged coastlines, our campers embraced the spirit of adventure with full hearts and muddy boots. Whether they were cooking backcountry feasts, spotting wildlife, learning new skills, or simply soaking in world‑class views, the day overflowed with amazing moments. We can hardly wait to hear what will come next but for now, read on to learn all about today’s adventures.

Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMC)
AKMC got an early start this morning for their first day of backpacking. Everyone dressed for the weather and didn’t let the low hanging clouds get in the way of their excitement to get on trail! The group hiked around six miles through verdant vegetation before setting up camp for the night and making a spectacular backcountry dinner. Tomorrow the group continues on day two of backpacking. Time to grab those binoculars and look for wildlife!
Alps Explorer A (AXA)
Today was a big day for this incredible gang! They hiked to Reid Glacier (how cool is that?!), explored the town they are staying in, and then came back to camp where they cheffed up so delicious grilled cheese and tomato soup. They day was filled with gorgeous views, good company, and super fun games. Tomorrow they will head to Martigny where they begin their TMB prep! Woohoo!
Alps Explorer B (AXB)
Yet another day in the books exploring the spectacular mountains of the Mattertal Valley! The breathtaking views at lunch were not for the faint of heart, but judging by the way that our hikers relished the vertiginous delight of a mountaintop hacky-sack–circle, they were a far cry from fitting that description today. Tomorrow, our trail-hardened travelers will put the cherry on top of their stint in the front country with one final day-hike before preparing to undertake an epic, long-distance trek. Wunderbar!
Colorado’s Rocky Mountains (CRM)
Today this crew woke up early, packed up camp, and had a gorgeous drive through the Rockies! Our Rocky Mountain explorers climbed up to Bierstadt Lake. The best part? The journey was just as fun as the destination. Along the way the crew played games, ate delicious snacks, and pondered many a riddle! While they got in some elevation today, tomorrow is going to be a little more dramatic and straight up. The stoke is only getting higher as our group sets out to go climbing! Maybe they’ll even see some mountain goats. Guess you’ll have to come back tomorrow to find out!
Costa Rica Mountains & Coast (CRMC)
Hola from Quepos, where the day zipped by—literally and figuratively! Our tactical squadron of travelers descended from the skies on Central America’s longest zipline wearing helmets that are all the rage in ziplining circles. Even cooler, our group got to hangout with El Sanctuario’s incredible Tico guides and learn about the area. In the afternoon, the crew headed to the world-famous beaches of Manuel Antonio National Park for some rest and relaxation. Tomorrow, they wake bright and early to tour the Park and hopefully catch a glimpse of a three-toed sloth! Wish them many a wonderful wildlife sighting on their adventure tomorrow!
Caribbean Service Virgin Islands (CSVI)
Day Two in St. Croix was replete with the island’s signature attractions: sunshine, seawater, and sand! After a morning learning the ropes, the crew hit the beach to swim, snorkel, and play volleyball to their hearts’ content. While the snorkeling masks made an appearance today, the real adventure begins tomorrow on their catamaran cruise to Buck Island. After a morning of scouting for sea life, our group gets the chance to interact with island conservation efforts. The crew will join up with one of the foremost environmental conservation organizations in the world to learn about how they can contribute to important initiatives like sea turtle monitoring and coral restoration. Talk about the best of both worlds!
Dolomite Mountains & Croatian Coast (DMCC)
The DMCC crew had an early (and we mean 4:30 am) morning to kick start their adventure on the Monte Specie Loop. It’s just as grand as it sounds. Check out the picture below for proof! Along the winding trail our crew stopped at a few gorgeous Refugios, ate lunch at the summit, and headed back down to explore the quaint and lovely town of Dobbiaco. The fun continues tomorrow as our group begins their spectacular journey on the Alta Via 1. As the group begins this new adventure we wish them “In bocca al lupo,” which roughly translates to into the wolf’s mouth, but means good luck!
Europe Coast to Coast (ECC)
Today our intrepid international travelers successfully navigated the airport before journeying to their glorious campsite with bikes and luggage in tow! After enjoying a delicious lunch together, the mighty bike building officially began! Spirits were high in anticipation of the start of their journey across Europe tomorrow morning. In the evening they ate scrumptious food, played awesome bonding games, and cozied up for the night before their big first day.
Maine Coast College Essay (MCCE)
The day has been very full of writing, learning, and the outdoors for our budding Shakespeares over at MCCE. They spent most of their morning writing with some breaks for fun and games, of course, because activities are mandatory to get those creative juices flowing! Specifically, a game called Mafia has been thrilling for this crew. However, all of their hard work paid off with a gelato filled evening (taking a page out of DMCC and AX’s book) to make it through these hot temperatures! Check out this group’s awesome sea kayaking adventure from yesterday in the video at the bottom of this page!
Maine Coast Junior (MCJ)
While the Maine Coast may be world-famous for its lobster, today our jovial Juniors acquainted themselves with the lobster’s lesser known prehistoric cousin, the exotic horseshoe crab! Good times were had by all from their kayaks in Casco Bay, and giggles rippled through the air like paddles passing through water. As the noontime sun trundled past its zenith, our fearless warriors forged farther up the coast in their chariot, determined to reach the fabled Acadia National Park, enjoy a hearty meal, and wake up bright and early to explore the wondrous world at the threshold of their tents!
Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)
Today began early for our DEX crew who embarked on a morning hike to catch the sunrise with a view! Afterwards, the group headed back to the campground to rest and recharge (and eat some amazing food) before an afternoon of hiking and exploring in Acadia National Park. Tomorrow, our fearless team will embark on prepping for the backcountry and their next epic destination in the great state of Maine!
New England Mountains & Coast (NEMC)
This crew continued to explore all of the wonders that the Whites have to offer. They hiked and took in some more stunning views, before traveling to a new campsite where they set up their home base…. Tomorrow they will be off on some big adventures so for tonight they have settled in with a delicious dinner and some classic campground games.
Northwest Mountains & Coast (NWMC)
Put on your party hats folks because we have a birthday to celebrate! And celebrate this NWMC crew most certainly did. After waking up and eating a birthday breakfast they hop in the van and headed out on an amazing hike through Grand Valley. They came back into camp where the festivities began with a birthday dinner and desert (of course!)
Vermont to Montreal (VM)
Our brave bikers made their way to Middlebury tonight where they celebrated with some food and party traditions from the one country in North America they won’t be visiting on this trip: Mexico! After their ride our crew made their way into camp to enjoy some Mexican food and an after diner piñata. Another great day on the road! Tomorrow our bikers prepare for their journey with hard earned candy and lots of water. For now, we’ll let them rest, patiently awaiting their scenic and smiling blog pictures.
