From singing in vans across Iceland to spotting wildlife in Alaska, our crews are making the most of every wild and wonderful moment. Adventures are unfolding on trails, in kayaks, and under starry skies. Scroll on to see what our rockstar students have been up to!

Skip to a Specific Trip: AKMCA, AKMCB, AXA, AXBCRM, CRMC, CSPR, DEX, IMC, MCCEVM

Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMCA)

Today is a big day! AKMCA is blazing trails into the beautiful and breathtaking Williwaw Lake Backcountry section. There’s high potential for good vibes, animal sightings, and downright spectacular views. Service will be spotty for the crew over the next few days, but stay tuned for some stellar photos when they exit the backcountry.

Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMCB)

Whoop whoop! The day has arrived—AKMCB has started their sea kayaking adventure. How lucky are they to be camping on a beautiful, remote island in Kenai Fjords, Alaska?! During this trip, they’ll paddle along the shorelines with the potential to see eagles, dolphins, whales and so much more!

Alps Explorer A (AXA)

Wait a minute. What on earth—is that a flying saucer? No, no, that’s AXA riding a cable car to Punta Helbronner, taking in incredible 360-degree views of the Alps and Mont Blanc. What a cool way for the group to enjoy the scenery and get a bird’s-eye view of the impressive hiking journey they’ve completed. Just when I think this trip can’t get any better!

Alps Explorer B (AXB)

Wow, look at those views! It was another spectacular day in Italy for our AXB team as they hiked from Plampincieux to Val Ferret. From all reports, today’s route and scenery were just as stunning (if not more so) as their previous days. Rumor has it the hills were alive with the sounds of trail games, group giggles, and joyous exclamations as they reached their destination.

Colorado’s Rocky Mountains (CRM)

Our Colorado crew bid farewell to one another early this morning after nine jam-packed days of exploration in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. An Apogee bond lasts a lifetime, so we’re hoping this isn’t goodbye, just a heartfelt “see you later!”

Costa Rica Mountains & Coast (CRMC)

If you thought yesterday’s CRMC itinerary was fun, just wait until you hear what they were up to today. The crew started their day with a morning hike in Manuel Antonio National Park. They also enjoyed some animal sightings and beach time before exploring the town around the park. Tonight, the students are prepping for their journey to San Gerardo. We hope their dreams are as sweet as the hiking adventures that await them in the coming days.

Caribbean Service Puerto Rico (CSPR)

It was a beautiful day to snorkel and that’s exactly what the CSPR crew did! The group started their day volunteering at a local nature reserve, then hit the water for some snorkeling and stunning underwater views of Puerto Rico. They wrapped up the day with a delicious dinner and games.

Iceland Mountains & Coast (IMC)

Can you hear that? No? Listen closer…that’s the sound of our Iceland crew belting out their favorite songs in the van as they made their way to one of Iceland’s most remote and beautiful national parks, Vatnajökull. After a two-hour drive, they set up camp and headed out for a six-mile hike. Stay tuned for more beautiful photos tomorrow and the next day, and the next… you get the idea!

Maine Coast College Essay (MCCE)

Our bright and studious MCCE crew bid farewell to one another today after seven full days of essay writing, group games, and sea kayaking. As we said earlier, an Apogee bond lasts a lifetime, so we’re hoping this is just “see you later!”

Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)

It’s a big day for DEX as they’ve completed their three-day backpacking loop. Just look at those views! Who else is jealous? They’re all smiles as they swap hiking boots for camp shoes and resupply on groceries in town. But they won’t stay off the trails for long – Mount Katahdin is just around the corner!

Vermont to Montreal (VM)

This speedy crew rolled into camp nice and early today. After crushing 28 miles yesterday, today’s 12 were no match for them. Word on the street is that they’re loving their time in Burlington and who wouldn’t, when you get to spend your afternoon working on an epic service project at a local farmhouse? There’s nothing more Vermont than that!
