Today is the first full day for many of our trips, and the fun is just getting started for them! For some of our more seasoned trips, the fun is continuing to be had. These blog pics and reports are making it look like such a blast, and honestly, it’s even fun to read about it here!

Skip to a Specific Trip: AKMCA, AKMCB AXA, AXBCRM, CRMC, CSPR, DEXIMC, MCCEVM

Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMCA)

Today is backcountry prep day for AKMCA! What better way to prepare for hiking for several days by going on a hike? This stellar crew did a hike up Mt. Baldy, and would you just look at those views! After their hike, they traveled back to camp and played some games before prepping their gear for their backcountry section.

Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMCB)

AKMCB traveled into Seward today to prepare for their upcoming sea kayaking adventure! After a van ride into town (and a brief resupply at Walmart), the team stopped to see some salmon swimming in a river. They explored Seward some more before heading into camp for dinner and to rest before their upcoming day on the water tomorrow.

Alps Explorer A (AXA)

Rest day in Italia! The gang slept in, had a relaxing and delicious brunch, and spent the remainder of the day enjoying the sunshine and exploring the town of Courmayeur. Another day off the trails tomorrow before they power through the final few days on the TMB into Geneva!

Alps Explorer B (AXB)

A beautiful high-alpine day for the AXB team! This crew took the Skyway Monte Bianco gondola ride, where they were able to enjoy 360 degree views of Mont Blanc and the rest of the surrounding Alps mountain range. They’ll be back on their feet tomorrow, continuing hiking on their last stretch of the TMB!

Colorado’s Rocky Mountains (CRM)

Today is the last full day for our Colorado crew! The group had a fun-filled day, the highlight of which was volunteering with Community Food Share in Louisville. After volunteering, they spent time exploring Boulder before a bittersweet final dinner.

Costa Rica Mountains & Coast (CRMC)

What is that we see up in the trees? Is it a bird? A plane? No? Why, it’s the CRMC group! This group spent their morning ziplining through the Costa Rican tree tops and had an absolute blast doing it. Just look at those smiles! They also snuck in some beach time post-ziplining, and they are looking forward to starting their hiking in the next few days!

Caribbean Service Puerto Rico (CSPR)

This is CSPR’s first full day on the island, and their first day of service! They spent the morning doing conservation work with a local ecological conservation organization. After their morning of service, they spent some time at the beach relaxing and playing games. They’re just getting used to island life, and boy, does it suit this group!

Iceland Mountains & Coast (IMC)

Huge updates from the land of fire and ice! The group had their first puffin sighting, while crushing a morning hike that was packed with spectacular views of the mountains and the coast. An afternoon in camp provided some much needed time for some R and R while they prepared for the final days of the trip. All the photos from today look awesome, but be sure to take an extra close look at pic #3 and see if you can notice anything spooky 🙂

Maine Coast College Essay (MCCE)

The essay editing has come to a close, and WOW, are we proud of these students or what? The MCCE crew has finished the drafts of their college essays. This afternoon, they shared their essays, before traveling into Portland for a delectable final dinner and celebration.

Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)

Today is DEX’s second day of backcountry hiking along the Appalachian Trail! While they can’t send us photos, reports from the field have been nothing but stellar. Their boots are laced up, backpacks are on, and they are cruising along the trail!

Vermont to Montreal (VM)

Super hilly ride? 28 miles? Why, that’s a walk in the park for this Vermont to Monreal crew! These incredible bikers are getting closer and closer to Canada every day. Once they got into camp, the group had a tasty dinner and enjoyed some popsicles courtesy of their favorite campground manager, Dan, before playing some games. They’ve got another exciting day of riding ahead of them tomorrow morning as they enter Burlington, then they will trade their bikes for gardening gloves in the afternoon when they volunteer with our community service partner!
