It’s a bittersweet day in the Apogee universe, some epic adventures are coming to an end and others are just beginning. Our cross continental bike trip has concluded in Venice but we are saying hello to new groups in Alaska, Costa Rica, and Puerto Rico!

Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMCA)

Oh me oh my its arrival day for AKMCA! After meeting up and playing ice breaker games at the airport this crew of adventurers headed for camp. They settled in, ate a delicious first dinner together and prepped for their first day hike tomorrow!

Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMCB)

Excitement is in the air out in Alaska as AKMCB forms as a full group for the first time! After exciting greetings at the airport and a few games for good measure AKMCB headed to camp to set up their first home base! Tomorrow they head into the mountains for an awesome first day hike! But for tonight they will be settling in, eating some yummy food, and getting to know each other! 

Alps Explorer A (AXA)

Border crossing alert! A little (or even a lot) of rain couldn’t stop our intrepid AXA squad from completing their trek from the quaint French hamlet of Les Chapieux, to the Col de la Seigne (8,255’) that marks the border to Italy, and into the wonderful mountain town of Courmayeur. Fortunately, they left the rain behind them shortly after they crossed into Italy and were welcomed into Courmayeur with sunshine! After a week of hard hiking on the Tour du Mont Blanc, Kendall and Otto’s group are looking forward to a very well-deserved two days of R&R.

Alps Explorer B (AXB)

Alps B had a rest day in Plampincieux, Italy! The group is enjoying a revitalizing day out of their hiking boots, before they tackle the rest of the TMB. Activities of the day included but were not limited to: sleeping in, vibing in camp, taking in the scenery, consumption of well balanced nutritious meals, massage trains, yodeling (probably).

Colorado’s Rocky Mountains (CRM)

This CRM crew headed out of the mountains and onto the water on today’s adventure! They spent the day rafting, taking in the stunning views of Colorado in a new way! After their adventure on the water they stopped to get some ice cream and enjoyed games in the park! A dreamy day for our CRM crew!

Costa Rica Mountains & Coast (CRMC)

In Costa Rica the adventures are just beginning! Ben and Aria eagerly waited at the airport before greeting their crew of epic adventurers. Once all together they hit the road, admiring the beauty of Costa Rica for the first time. They settled into their accommodations for the night and prepared for their first full day of adventure tomorrow!

 

Caribbean Service Puerto Rico (CSPR)

Wooohooo CSPR welcomed new students today! After hellos and a few games in the airport this crew took off! They headed to their beachside home for the next few days where they enjoyed a delicious first meal and bonding with new friends!

Europe Coast to Coast (ECC)

After an epic adventure across Europe this amazing crew of close friends said their goodbyes. They headed home with stories to tell to loved ones of all the places they went with the amazing people they now call their apogee family!

Iceland Mountains & Coast (IMC)

Another stellar day in the books for IMC! They woke up early to crush out the miles on their day hike. They were rewarded with absolutely breathtaking views and even saw some sheep along the way! After a post-hike trip to a local cafe the crew headed to camp. They spent the night cooking up a delicious dinner and playing mafia (a IMC favorite game). Cannot wait to see what these IMCers get up to tomorrow!

Maine Coast College Essay (MCCE)

 It was the last day of writing workshop with Jack and the kids worked super hard and are all very close to a finished product that they will share with the group tomorrow. After saying goodbye to Jack, this hardworking crew headed to the beach to relax and recharge. Highlights included a picnic lunch, refreshing swims to beat the heat, and some stunning Maine views.

Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)

DEX is off into the backcountry today! They hit the Appalachian trail this morning with excitement and determination. They travel along stunning lakes and are greeted by friendly through hikes on adventures of their own! No photos for today as they are out of service but reports from leaders are that they are having an absolute blast.

Vermont to Montreal (VM)

Our VM crew absolutely crushed the miles this morning, soaking in gorgeous Vermont views the whole way. They arrived at camp with plenty of time for a dip in a nearby river. It’s clear that this group is really hitting their stride, we can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
