Alps Explorer A (AXA)
AXA continues to cruise on the TMB! They’re spending more time around the French locals (today was a big cow-sighting day on trail). Today, the group celebrates Claire’s birthday (happy birthday Claire!) by tying balloons to their backpacks. The celebration doesn’t stop at balloons – they’re planning a fun party for tonight as well!
Alps Explorer B (AXB)
Day 5 of the TMB brought with it AXB’s last full day of hiking in France! The clouds covering the views did nothing to dampen AXB’s spirits as they continued hiking along this iconic European trek. Tomorrow, they will say au revoir to France, but before that they will enjoy an incredible meal at tonight’s campground and will sleep well before they hike to Italy!
Colorado’s Rocky Mountains (CRM)
It was another gorgeous day in Estes Park as the group tackled their day hike. Sufficiently warmed up from the first few hikes of the trip, they went big today and trekked 8 miles on the Ute Trail!! Wildlife sightings included some elk, a MOOSE, and lots of smiling campers.
Caribbean Service Virgin Islands (CSVI)
‘Twas an AWESOME last full day on the island. During community service, the group got to learn about turtle shells and how to track their nesting patterns! One final dip in the ocean at Sandy Point Beach (famous from the movie Shawshank Redemption), a sweet hike to a lighthouse with some stellar views, and a delish final dinner overlooking the water was the perfect cap to a fun week in the Caribbean.
Europe Coast to Coast (ECC)
The bike ride from Amsterdam to Venice has come to its conclusion! This cohort of 15 bikers and three leaders have officially biked over 1,200 miles across seven countries. They’re hanging up their helmets tonight and will enjoy a very well deserved day of rest and sightseeing tomorrow in beautiful Venice.
Iceland Mountains & Coast (IMC)
The IMC team started their morning out with a circumnavigation of Kirkjufell, an iconic mountain on Iceland. They stopped at the Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall along the way and took in the majesty of this iconic waterfall. After a day of hiking, they soaked back at the campground in the hot tub and pool, before finishing the day with a delicious dinner. Another wonderful day in Iceland in the books!
Maine Coast College Essay (ECC)
Another day brings an official first draft of their new college essays! This group of studious students are hard at work writing their essays. After a morning in the classroom, the MCCE group went outside to do community service with a local farm, Growing to Give. This evening, they plan to do a picnic dinner and hike to a beach.
Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)
Maine’s Downeast Explorers started the day by taking a sunrise hike, where they summited a local peak! After getting back to camp and consuming breakfast #2 for the day, they decided to…take another hike! On this second hike, they summited not one, not two, but four more peaks, bringing their total summit count of the day to five. Great views, even greater memories.
Pyrenees Mountains & Coast (PMC)
Barcelona is beautiful, and the PMC crew has the pictures to prove it! This group has officially made it off the trail, and are spending their final full day together by exploring this beautiful capital of Spain’s Catalonia region. They shared their favorite memories from the trail at a bittersweet final dinner. We wish them safe travels tomorrow!
Vermont to Montreal (VM)
Today is the first day of the Vermont to Montreal trip! The leaders welcomed this new cohort of bikers to Massachusetts, before they shuttled to their first campsite to begin preparing for the start of their biking adventure tomorrow. We are excited to see them buckle their helmets and get on their bikes!
