Alps Explorer A (AXA)

Today marked Day 2 of the Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB) for the AXA team as they trekked through the fog to the iconic Lac Blanc for a classic TMB lunch: fresh baguette sandwiches (with plenty of tasty toppings, of course). They then made their way to their first rifugio experience of the TMB—another quintessential component of the trek. After a delicious, home-cooked meal, they snuggled into their beds (real beds, mattresses and all!) to dream about tomorrow’s adventure to Chamonix.

Alps Explorer B (AXB)

Feeling refreshed after a night in the mountains at their first rifugio of the Tour du Mont Blanc, Sophie and Ellie’s AXB squad trekked down to the valley floor and the picturesque mountain town of Chamonix! Fresh-baked baguette sandwiches were crafted, used as phones, and then consumed, photo evidence below. After exploring this charming town, they did some group yoga together and set up camp for the night.

Colorado’s Rocky Mountains (CRM)

The CRM crew took a scenic drive this morning through Rocky Mountain National Park. Along the way, they stopped at the Alpine Visitor Center to learn about the park’s rock formations and how rising global temperatures and melting glaciers carved out the mountains they now see. They then hit the trails, exploring the wonders of the park on foot! They ended the day back at camp with dinner and games, all in all, a pretty dreamy day!

Costa Rica Mountains & Coast (CRMC)

Costa Rica had a morning of celebration for their leader Ben’s birthday! They packed up one last time and headed toward home, ready to see loved ones and share all the amazing stories of their trip.

Caribbean Service Puerto Rico (CSPR)

After a trip full of memories and new adventures, the CSPR crew headed to the airport. They waved goodbye to the beautiful scenery and new friends before hopping on planes to see loved ones.

Caribbean Service Virgin Islands (CSVI)

This hardworking CSVI crew had yet another amazing day in the Virgin Islands. They woke up early and got to work with a local conservancy focused on sea turtle monitoring and coral restoration projects. While there, students toured the Coral Innovation Lab and learned more about the impact of their restoration work. They packed a picnic lunch and spent the afternoon swimming and snorkeling at the beautiful nearby beaches. What an incredible day!

Europe Coast to Coast (ECC)

ECC woke up to rain in Bolzano, but they didn’t let it stop them! They cruised out of town and watched the clouds lift from the Dolomites. They passed through Trento, where they had lunch, and then tackled their last big climb of the trip! They celebrated with popsicles and a dip in the lake. The night ended at a lakeside campsite—what’s not to love?

Iceland Mountains & Coast (IMC)

The Iceland group hit the road this morning and made an awesome stop some luxurious Hot Springs for a completely relaxing dip. They continued on to a small fishing town nestled beneath the iconic Mt. Kirkjufell. After setting up camp and visiting a nearby waterfall, they wrapped up the day with games of Gaga, four square, and a little soccer to top it off. An awesome day from start to finish!

Maine Coast College Essay (MCCE)

The Maine Coast College Essay crew kicked off their first full day with sea kayaking off Orr’s Island, followed by a quick swim check in the Maine ocean! After lunch, they met up with the Apogee-revered Jack DeAngelis to dive into their first essay brainstorming session. The day wrapped up with games in Brunswick, where a few New England Apogee leaders joined for a spirited round of Captain’s Coming and other fun. Spirits were high, and the trip is off to a great start!

Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)

This fearless DEX crew is just beginning their epic Maine adventure! After meeting up in Brunswick, they traveled up the coast for their first night of camping. They were greeted by sparkling coastlines and gorgeous pine forests—an incredible start to what’s sure to be an amazing journey!

Northwest Mountains & Coast (NWMC)

After 12 days of camping and exploring Washington, this NWMC crew headed into Seattle to celebrate! They explored the city with the friends they made throughout this amazing trip. The night ended with a celebratory dinner—one final joyful Apogee meal together as a group.

Pyrenees Mountains & Coast (PMC)

The PMC crew woke up eager for some stunning views! After conquering many steep and beautiful miles, this victorious group decided to celebrate in true PMC style… with a spa day, of course! They were delighted to find that their leaders had packed in all the makings for an at-home spa day—face masks and all! They spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying each other’s company at camp.
