Alps Explorer A (AXA)
These absolute winner started their day sweetly—with a pre-hike snack of some good ol’ pain au chocolat. Their day continued to climb upwards (both in vibes and elevation, which they CRUSHED) as they wandered up an old Roman road. Trail conversations ranged from the wonders of the Roman Empire to what delicious toppings they’d be putting on their fresh baguettes for lunch! All in all, another stellar day for AXA.
Alps Explorer B (AXB)
We had to pinch ourselves when looking at these photos! What dreamy views the AXB crew saw today. They said au revoir to France and ciao to Italy! Throughout this exciting day, AXB tackled the miles, jumped for joy, and ate some truly spectacular sandwiches. They ended their hike in Courmayeur and, after exploring this adorable town, headed to camp for the night.
Costa Rica Mountains & Coast (CRMC)
Costa Rica said “surf’s up” and hit the waves today! After a few adventurous days in the jungle, the CRMC crew was thrilled to be on the coast. They met up with their amazing surf instructors, who taught them all the best ways to catch a wave. Their afternoon was spent relaxing by the pool and playing more games on the beach!
Europe Coast to Coast (ECC)
Most years, the stretch of riding between the Belgian/French border and tonight’s campsite is a hot one—think gorgeous rolling countryside with not much shade. But this year was a different story! After a few days of steady rain and highs in the upper 60s, it’s safe to say our crew is a little soggy (as you might guess from the photo). But fret not—their spirits are anything but damp! The forecast is looking up, with bright, sunny, and comfortably warm weather expected by Wednesday—just in time for visiting Paris!
Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)
After days in the woods, summiting the highest point in Maine, and swimming along the coast yesterday, our DEX crew was ready for their next great adventure. They headed back into the backcountry, this time by kayak. They set up camp on their very own island and enjoyed an afternoon of swimming and hanging out on the beach!
Northwest Mountains and Coast (NWMC)
The Northwest Mountains and Coast team had a busy and fun day! They hit the trails early for a short hike in the stunning North Cascades, then refueled with a tasty lunch before heading out to whitewater raft the Sauk River with the help of some pretty sweet local guides. We’re living vicariously through this crew and can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
Pacific Coast (PC)
PC definitely started the day off on the right foot—waking up beneath a canopy of redwood trees. Their day only got better as they biked farther down the coast, enjoying yet another day of beautiful riding and stunning scenery. They settled into camp – where they were pleasantly surprised to find a hot tub – and readied themselves for another day of adventure and fun on the California coast.
Pyrenees Mountains and Coast (PMC)
The PMC crew continued their trek through the high Pyrenees today, hiking up and over not one, but two mountain passes. The photo speak for itself, but in our (biased) opinion, the Pyrenees may just be one of the most beautiful places in the world. The crew is now tucked in at their rifugio (mountain hut) for the night, sweetly dreaming of tomorrow’s hike—where they’ll attempt to bag a nearby summit!
Vermont to Montreal (VM)
Oh me, oh my—this crew of champions made it to Montreal today! The VMers got after it, absolutely crushing their final 37 miles of riding for the trip. This monumental ride took them out of the countryside and into the bustling, beautiful city of Montreal. They settled into their hostel for the night and are ready for a day of celebratory exploration tomorrow!
