This week-long trip is the perfect outdoor sampler, loaded with activities both in the mountains and on the water. Whether you are new to the outdoors or have camped your whole life, NEMC offers something for everyone. Challenge your skills on a ropes course, take in fantastic views on hikes in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, and paddle sea kayaks along the Maine coast. The week-long duration of this adventure is ideal for both younger students, who may not have been away from home for lengths of time, and for older students, who have a busy summer schedule and want to fit in some outdoor fun. Trips are grouped by age, and activities are catered to the group skill level. A great way to explore New England and try out something new!
Ropes Course & the White Mountains
Our first full day together will be spent with certified instructors on a ropes course where we’ll work on team building skills and get to know one another. Next we’ll head north to New Hampshire’s White Mountains for some spectacular day-hiking in the Presidential Range. We’ll set out on a variety of hikes, many taking us above tree line where we’ll eat lunch in beautiful alpine meadows with breathtaking views. We’ll discover hidden waterfalls, swim in cool mountain streams, and keep an eye out for moose and other wildlife. (More advanced groups may even summit Mount Washington, New England’s tallest peak!)

From the White Mountains, we’ll head east by van to Maine where we’ll spend a day sea kayaking with professional guides. We’ll paddle along Maine’s rocky coast, explore the islands, and picnic at water’s edge. The grand finale of our week together will be a festive farewell dinner in historic Portland, Maine before heading back to the Boston area to meet parents. A perfect ending to the perfect New England adventure!
