What is Apogee?

Apogee offers teen outdoor adventure travel. We provide students with safe, well-designed trips to spectacular outdoor locations. We travel in small, supportive, co-ed groups led by dynamic, responsible, and well-trained leaders. In this nurturing and wholesome environment students learn about themselves and others through physical challenge and volunteer work. Traveling by their own power, students will overcome trials and achieve new heights. Apogee's primary goals are for students to have fun, form lasting friendships, and to develop strong values. We want our students to return home with a sense of accomplishment and self-confidence that carry over into all aspects of life.

The simple answer is size. We're a small program with a lot to offer.

Small Groups

Every student gets a chance to shine and contribute in a small group. Apogee groups never have more than twelve participants and always have two leaders: one male, one female. Our groups eat together, laugh together, sweat together, and grow together. We're a family.

Superb trip leaders

Our trip leaders are charismatic, compassionate people who care deeply about each one of their students. We hand select them from a large pool of applicants and train them ourselves. They are fun and responsible and the driving force behind the success of every trip.

Great kids

Apogee participants are exceptional young people. Our students are motivated, enthusiastic and eager to try something new. Some have lots of outdoor experience; some have none. What they all have are open minds and adventurous spirits. We make sure the fit is right by personally talking with two references for each applicant.

Fun & Friends

Time is different on an Apogee trip. We can't explain it, but at the end of a trip, our students have endless adventure stories and new friends they feel like they've known forever.

Community

Simply put, Apogee's goal is to strengthen the foundation from which kids grow. We provide students with fun, adventure, and a chance to give back through volunteer service. In this atmosphere young people gain self-confidence and become active, contributing members of their community.

Carefully planned trips

We personally plan and scout every detail of every itinerary, selecting only the very best and safest routes and destinations. Our trips are thoughtfully designed to challenge, inspire and engage.

Safety

Safety is of the utmost importance to us. We carefully plan our routes and activities with safety in mind. Equipment is checked and rechecked. All our leaders are at the very least certified in First Aid and CPR, many holding more advanced certifications. Office staff closely monitors each trip in progress and is in constant contact with trip leaders. Safety, safety, safety is our mantra.

Director involvement

Apogee's directors, Kevin Cashman & Chad Olcott, are involved and available. When parents call with questions or concerns, Kevin and Chad are there to talk with them. They know each student and each family individually. They are passionate about their program and go the extra mile to ensure that every student is safe, happy and thriving.
